Relevance and Credibility Indices Tutorials
In order to help assess whether existing research studies are credible and relevant to a particular educational context, researchers at Teachers College have developed two indices, the Relevance Index (RI) and the Credibility Index (CI). These rubrics can help decision-makers evaluate existing studies of educational programs, strategies or interventions to determine whether they represent reliable evidence that the activity could help improve student outcomes in their own context.
These video tutorials explain what the Relevance and Credibility Indices are, walk through examples in which they are applied to two different research studies, and then provide a hands-on opportunity for you to practice applying the Indices yourself to a third research study.
